The Old Tafo Municipal Assembly has supplied 477 Dual Desks to the Kumasi Metropolitan Education Office for onward distribution to14 schools within the Municipality.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Okoffo Boadi-Boampongon behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive handed over the desks to the Kumasi Metropolitan Education Director, Mr. Peter Gyamfi at a short ceremony in Tafo.
The beneficiary schools included Imamiya Islamic Primary, Badariya Islamic Primary, Al-Azhariya Primary ‘A’, Al-Azhariya Primary ‘B’, Old Tafo R/C Primary, Darul Faiz-deen Islamic Primary, St. Benedicts R/C Primary, Uthmaniya Islamic primary and Old Tafo Methodist Primary ‘A’ others are Old Tafo Methodist Primary ‘B’, Pankrono R/C Basic, Old Tafo MA Primary A&B and Rockanje Presby Experimental Primary.
Mr.Okoffo Boadi-Boampong noted that the supply was from the one constituency, one million – dollar project. He urged them to put the Desks into good use and practice the culture of good maintenance.
Madam Theresa Baako, Head Teacher of Old Tafo M/A Primary on behalf of the Heads of the beneficiary schools, thanked government for the immerse support.
She said it will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning and promised to take good care of the Desks.
