The OLD TAFO MUNICIPAL Assembly
The Old Tafo Municipal is one of the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, and forms part of the 43 of MMDAs in the Ashanti Region. The Old Tafo Municipal Assembly is carved out of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly as one of the 38 newly created and upgraded District Assemblies in 2018. Created with LI 2293, the Old Tafo Municipal Assembly has its capital as Old Tafo. It was inaugurated on March 15, 2018 alongside other 37 newly created districts.

OTMA aspires to become a model client-focused assembly committed to improving the wellbeing of the people.
Mission
The Assembly exists to ensuring a livable and inclusive city through the provision of basic socio-economic goods and services for the inhabitants of the municipality through the efficient utilization of resources inspired by a transparent and accountable leadership.
Objectives

Formulate and execute plans, programmes and strategies for the effective mobilization of the resources necessary for the overall development of the municipality;

Promote and support productive activity and social development in the municipality and remove any obstacles to initiative and development;

Initiate programmes for the development of basic infrastructure and provide municipal works and services in the municipality;

Promote the maintenance of security and public safety in the municipality in co-operation with the appropriate national and local security agencies.
