The department of the social welfare and community development in the quarter of the year visited Day Care Centres (Early Childhood development Centres) in the municipality from January 1st to January 5th ,2023. During the visit, ten (10) centers within the Municipality were inspected and monitored. Officers did this exercise to ensure that they operate according to standard practice and procedure as per sections 115 to 120 of the Children’s Act, 1998 (ACT 560). Proprietors of unregistered centers were entreated to have them registered.
Nine (9) out of ten (10) schools have already been registered and given certificate to operate in the municipality, while one (1) center is going through registration.
