MCE’S ENGAGEMENT WITH THE NHYIESO (MORO MARKET) COMMUNITY

On Friday 20th November, 2020 the Old Tafo Municipal Assembly held a community durbar at Moro Market just in front of the Oniwaa Memorial International School. The program started around 3pm in the evening. The purpose of the community durbar was to educate to the people of the Nhyiaeso especially those at the Moro market about the duty of the Assembly. The M.C of the program was Mad. Juliet Tetteh She introduced the dignitaries for the program. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Fred Owusu Obeng, The Municipal Co-ordinating Director Mr. Okoffo-Boadi Boampong, The Presiding Member, Hon. Richard Appiah and The NCCE Director Mr. Saani Suraka.

Mr. Saani Suraka took the people through some election processes. He educated the people on what to do before, during and after the election. The Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Okofo Boadi Boampong also explained the main duties of the Assembly, the work of the Assembly and what the Assembly comprises of. The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Fred Obeng Owusu also explained the work done of the Government to the people and what the Government intends to do for the people. The MCE told the people about the Government plans to construct the Moro Market into a modern one.
The NPP Parliamentary candidate, Mr. Vincent Ekow Asafuah also graced the occasion with his entourage’s presence and told the people that the Government has good things installed for them so they should believe in NPP Government and return them to power with a massive vote cast. During the program a chance was given to the people ask questions and assertions made by the traders was that, they witness happenings after completing of the Kejetia Market, those who used to own the stores were not given back to them after completion so if the market is to be constructed again, then what are they going to do about those who use to own stores at the market. The people made a lot of complaints; some were security problem, roads and their poor lighting system. The Madam Juliet Tetteh (MC) gave the vote of thanks and the meeting was closed.
