The 38th National Farmers’ day celebration in the Old Tafo Municipality was held on Friday December 2nd, 2022 in honor of both the Municipal and Farmers for their contribution towards nation building. The programme took place at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly with the theme “Developing Agriculture Through Value Additionâ€. Present were, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah (Tafo-Pankrono MP) , Hon. Lord Inusah Lansah (Municipal Chief Executive), and Traditional authorities of the Municipal. Heads of Departments, Assembly members, and various farmers in the Municipality also graced the event.
Farmers who distinguished themselves in the course of their farming activities were honored by the Municipal Assembly. Some of the categories of awards were Best Female farmer, Best Youth Farmer, Best Aquaculture Farmer, Best Agro Processor, Best Backyard Farmer, Best Innovative Farmer, Best Poultry Farmer, Best Small Ruminant Farmer, Best Large Ruminant Farmer and Best Agric Staff. Other awards included items like foodstuffs, cattle, fertilizer granulator machines, agrochemicals and farming tools.
The MCE, Hon. Lord Inusah Lansah in his speech thanked all farmers for their enormous effort and encouraged them to continue with their good work.
